This is a rare chromatic accordion that is designed to look like a piano accordion. It is actually 3-row chromatic model. The third row is made to look like the black keys on a piano type keyboard. I absolutely love the reeds. This is a clean accordion in original condition. The reeds are hand-made, probably Catraro. Full-size accordion with 4/5 sets LMMH and concert tuning (just a few cents in the violin switch - listen to the demo). It will come with new back pad and new straps.

The black keys serve as the 3rd row. This way we have the visual effect of a piano type keyboard. According to "The Golden Age of the Accordion" book when Piettro Deiro introduced the piano accordion in the USA everyone wanted to learn on that model because it was more intuitive and a "novelty". Musicians who were proficient on the chromatic accordion wanted instruments that would appear to the audience as piano accordions and would allow them to play the system they knew.

The instrument feels and sounds great. I wish I could play B system to fully enjoy it. The wooden body has matured nicely and enhances the richness of the fabulous hand-made reeds. They are air efficient and offer a large dynamic range. The accordion has been serviced at the Accordion Gallery in May 2024 and is offered with a full year warranty. The key valves are made of natural white felt and leather and are in excellent condition.

The reed blocks are masterfully crafted. Not only are they resonant but also look like a piece of art with the patterned wood on top.

The mahogany body is nicely aged and enhances the sound produced by some of the best hand-made reeds you can find.

The reeds are among the best I have played. The voicing is very precise.

The accordion comes with a sturdy used Excelsior case.

You can upgrade the case to a new Italian model with internal cover for keyboard protection - see the pictures below. Please, note the straps in the pictures below are the original ones. I intend to ship the accordion with new high quality Italian straps with wider padded area. If you like to have the original straps as well, I will include them at no additional cost - just ask.
