Custom Ordered Diamond Musette MIDI Amplified Accordion

This instrument was ordered by a friend of mine who owned two Petosa AM-1100 MIDI accordions and wanted a lighter weight instrument with the same quality and electronic features. The weight reduction is achieved by eliminating the 11 bass switches and keeping 4 sets of bass reeds with low-A configuration for a nice solid bass sound. In addition, there is no tone chamber on the treble side. With 4 sets of treble reeds the accordion sounds rich and full. The reeds are hand made. The electronics and programming are identical to the Petosa AM-1100 MIDI models. This Diamond accordion is 4 lb lighter than the AM1100 and was exactly what my friend needed for strolling. For that purpose he also ordered an acoustic grill.

I can't stress enough how important it is to have a professional programming in order to enjoy the electronics orchestral capabilities of a MIDI accordion. With a Solton MS40 or Ketron XD3 (available on request) you can control in real time not only the orchestral sounds but the rhythms and styles, alternate between different variations of a particular pattern, play along with MIDI files etc. Of course, you can use this accordion with any other MIDI module you choose. Here is a taste of what is possible with this instrument. Videos courtesy of Petosa Accordions:

The following (optional) MIDI modules/arranges are available for purchase with this accordion

You can play this accordion as a fine acoustic instrument, as amplified accordion, as a MIDI instrument sounding like a full orchestra, or in any combination. This instrument is one of the best you can find. The reeds are very efficient and allow for a great dynamic range. You can play a variety of music and always enjoy an authentic sound. The orchestral capabilities of the MIDI will open a whole new universe for musical expression.

I hope you enjoy the pictures below and would be glad to hear from you at 973-770-6877 with any questions.

The 4 knobs on the right side of the above picture (closer to your chin) control the volume of the electronic sounds (MIDI audio channels) - master, treble, bass, and chords. The 4 square buttons above the volume knobs allow for changing the variation of the selected style (both rhythm pattern as well as richness of accompaniment; fully programmed). The 3 knobs on the lower side of the grill (shown on the left in the above photograph) control the volume of the built in microphones - master, treble, and bass.

All cables and accessories are included, neatly stored in a custom made gig-bag with foam padding:

1. S-2000 module (serves as a tone generator and power supply (the black box with blue print)
2. MIDI data cable connecting the accordion to the S-2000 module (multi-pin connectors, see picture below)
3. Stereo audio cable for the accordion microphones (connects to the accordion; bundled with the MIDI data cable)
4. General MIDI cable (lower right side of the picture above) connecting the MIDI Out of the S-2000 to an external MIDI module
5. Power cord

This instrument was built to last for generations of musicians. The interior is as nicely finished as the exterior.
All parts have been carefully selected and are in excellent condition - the keyboard valves, the reed leathers,
the wax, all mechanical assemblies... This accordion is virtually new.
