SOUND
SAMPLES: Treble side and Bass Side
Dear
Accordion Friends,
This fabulous Petosa AM 1100 accordion was built in 1995. It is still in very good in condition. This acoustic instrument comes with a factory installed S-2000 MIDI controller, fully programmed and ready to be used. This accordion has been a dream for a generation of American musicians. It features the famous Petosa mahogany chamber and solid walnut keyboard. The mechanics is indestructible. The tone is rich and powerful. With one set of bassoon reeds and three sets of clarinet reeds the instrument features both concert and musette sounds. The M1 and M2 reeds are tuned in unison for a beautiful concert tuned violin sound and the third set of clarinet reeds (M3) is tuned sharp to allow for musette sounds when used in combination with the other concert tuned reeds. The 10 (!) bass switches would allow you to find the perfect balance between treble and bass for any selected reed combination. In addition to the excellent acoustic features, the accordion has built-in microphones and a full MIDI installation with very friendly grill controller. You can play this accordion as a fine acoustic instrument, as amplified accordion, as a MIDI instrument sounding like a full orchestra, or in any combination.
The AM 1100 model features the best hand-made reeds available with double tone chamber from solid mahogany and low-A bass configuration. It remains the flagship model of Petosa Accordions in Seattle.

This instrument is one of the best you can find. The tone is clear, yet rich and strong. Each reed combination has unique tonal color. The acoustic balance between treble and bass is excellent. The reeds are very efficient and allow for a great dynamic range. With the custom tuning you can play a huge variety of music and always enjoy an authentic sound - jazz, classical, Balkan, Italian, German. The orchestral capabilities of the MIDI will open a whole new universe for musical expression. It doesn't get any better!
Our children and grandchildren will still admire the craftsmanship and the tonal personality of the AM 1100. Yes, I am confident there is future for the accordion. The time of prejudice is gone. You can tell by the accordion music featured in many movies and recent TV commercials. Even the popular TV show "The price is right" featured an accordion recently, a Petosa accordion. I am very pleased to see many young talented musicians perform on the accordion.
The profile
of the palm master switch is very smart and helps avoid interference with the performers right leg while sitting
on a chair.

The 4 knobs on the right side of the above picture (closer to your chin) control the volume of the electronic sounds (MIDI audio channels) - master, treble, bass, and chords. The 3 knobs on the lower side of the grill (shown on the left in the above photograph) control the volume of the built in microphones and the bellows dynamics sensitivity.

The keyboard is perfectly aligned and calibrated. The valves are like new. You will play better on this instrument.

The
accordion comes with a new Italian bass strap.
You can select the shoulder straps shown in the picture below of a set
of new all-black Italian straps of the same size and quality.

The body, the tone chamber, and the reed blocks are made of solid aged mahogany.

The MIDI and microphones have been installed at the factory in Italy and all the wiring is neat and professional.

I have serviced dozens of Petosa accordions. This is the only AM-1100 model that I have seen with a bass side tone chamber!

The following cables and accessories are included

The Velcro patch on the bottom of the power supply helps attach it to the case and use the case as a bench, placed next to the performer.

The case is very sturdy and has thick padding on all sides - exactly the type of case that you would need if you travel a lot to perform across the country.
