Accordion Gallery where you can play side by side some of the
best new and professionally serviced vintage accordions..
The
reed configuration corresponding to each treble switch is also shown
with dots om the lower side of the switch.
This way it it
very convenient to see it as you glance at the keyboard from playing
position.
The slide above
the switches is used to open and close the tone modulator.
The
accordion has state of the art condenser microphones with 1/4" jack
mounted on the lower side of the grill (picture below).
The
treble and bass volume can be adjusted independently.
On the
photograph below you can see the tone modulator and treble
microphones.
The
original treble valves are in excellent condition.
The
keyboard is made of American walnut. The key tops are Lucite and don't
scratch. You will love the keyboard action.
Below
you can see the modern design bass mechanics optimized for silent and
smooth action. Each button is
surrounded by felt. The metal-to-metal contact has been eliminated by
using plastic tubing over the valve pins. Felt along
the stop rails results in silent stop at the travel of the bass
button. The back side of the stop rail is lined with leather to
additionally silence the release of the bass buttons.
The
interior is crafted with attention to details. Solid aged woods have
been used throughout.
The
next photograph shows the treble reeds blocks and reeds.
Each
internal component of this accordion has been meticulously finished.
Even the bellows frame is made of solid maple.
The
lowest octave Bass reeds are mounted in an L-shaped reed block that
serves as a tone chamber, improving the reed response.
The
low-A reed configuration is typical for Morbidoni-made accordions and
is optimized for reed response and tonal depth.
I would
comfortably present this instrument side by side with absolutely any
new accordion made today.
